This Quinta da Fata is a seriously confident red – you immediately get a sense of place. It’s built on a fantastic framework of freshness, beautifully balanced with a concentrated burst of red and wild fruit flavours, very much rooted in the heart of the Dão. The Touriga Nacional lends a classic elegance, while the Aragonez and Alfrocheiro bring a welcome richness and exuberance. A remarkably long finish makes it a truly delightful experience. I’d pair it with a hearty roasted beef or perhaps a dish featuring wild mushrooms – a match made in wine heaven!
