“This ‘Late Harvest’ from Quinta da Folgorosa is, shall we say, a little trip down memory lane. Clearly, they’ve been letting these Arraiolos Moscatel grapes mature with a rather indulgent patience – the result is a nose brimming with intense honey and orange blossom, practically hearing the bees at work. The palate is undeniably rich, with an acidity that surprisingly keeps the sweetness in check, and a finish that makes you wonder if time simply flew by, or if the wine is, quite frankly, exceptional. Apparently, it snagged a medal at the Decanter World Competition – let’s hope it’s a sign of something more than just a generous dose of sweetness. Wonderful with aged sheep’s cheese or a classic almond cream – a pairing that's as reliable as a well-worn proverb.”
