Deep‑colored, this wine is complex, with freshness and great elegance. It offers aromas of violets, eucalyptus, varnish and black plums. On the palate it is enveloping yet remarkably harmonious and balanced, full of fresh fruit, licorice and spices. Domingos Alves de Sousa brings his wines to life by following a family tradition that began with his grandfather and now includes his sons as well. By vinifying exclusively the grapes from his quintas—truly unique terroirs—the quality and distinctiveness of his wines are widely recognized, earning distinctions and references in the most respected national and international publications. Notably, he received the “Producer of the Year” award in 1999 and again in 2006 from Revista de Vinhos, becoming the first Portuguese wine producer to receive the country’s most prestigious distinction twice.
