The Quinta da Pacheca Grande Reserva Branco 2022 is a DOC Douro wine made from Arinto, Viosinho and Gouveio grapes, fermented and aged on fine lees for one year in French oak casks and 500‑liter barrels, with periodic bâtonnage. Its color is a lemon‑yellow with greenish tints, revealing delicate aromas of lime and white fruit. On the palate it is intense, fresh and structured, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Quinta da Pacheca, one of the most renowned estates in the Douro, stands out for being among the first to bottle its own branded wines. The estate’s name has been recorded since April 17, 1738, when a dated document first mentions the “Quinta da Pacheca”, owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. It was only in 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to pursue his growing interest in enology, purchasing the property with the aim of dedicating himself to viticulture. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family manages the estate: Maria, Catarina and José are the young faces of this family‑run business. (illustrative image)
