This rosé from Quinta da Pedra Escrita is the passion project of enologist Rui Roboredo, clearly aiming to revive a forgotten Douro Superior heritage. The early harvest, driven by arid, granite soils at 575 metres, delivers a wonderfully vibrant acidity and a colour hinting at remarkable longevity. Touriga Nacional, predictably, contributes a sophisticated basil note, while fermentation in 300-litre barrels and lees aging provide a persistent, almost luxurious texture. It’s a wine for those seeking freshness, complexity, and a touch of rebellious spirit – particularly good with grilled fish or a perfectly curled salmon.
