Aroma intensely citrusy and mineral, with grapefruit notes, subtle exotic fruits and field flowers, all underpinned by the strong mineral character of its exclusively granite soil and a very discreet smoky nuance. The palate is very persistent and fresh, featuring lively citrus flavours that culminate in an elegant, bright and long‑lasting acidity. Quinta da Pedra Escrita, part of the Roboredo Madeira family for around eight generations, was restored in 2007. Its dry, arid soils make vine cultivation a challenge, yet this very difficulty lends the wines their aromatic depth and remarkable complexity, as well as a great capacity for ageing. These wines also pay tribute to all who shaped and inspired Rui Roboredo Madeira. In one of the most remote regions of the Iberian Peninsula, between the Upper Douro and Beira Alta, Rui’s passion for the aromas and scents of the land that mould his character was born within his family. After years of experience and time spent abroad, Rui brings back what he learned to his homeland, embarking on a personal wine‑making project with utmost respect for nature.
