Very citrusy aroma with notes of grapefruit, exotic fruits and field flowers, accompanied by a strong minerality from the granitic soil on which the vines grow, and a hint of smokiness. On the palate it is very persistent, elegant and fresh. Quinta da Pedra Escrita, part of the Roboredo Madeira family for about eight generations, was restored in 2007. Characterised by its dry, arid soils, vine planting is no easy task, but this very challenge makes its wines aromatic, highly complex, and able to age for a long time. These wines also pay tribute to everyone who shaped and inspired Rui Roboredo Madeira. In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Raia zone between the Upper Douro and Beira Alta, Rui’s passion for the aromas and scents of the land that shape his character was born within his family. After years of experience and living in other parts of the world, Rui brings back to his roots what he has learned, launching a personal wine‑making project with maximum respect for nature.
