This Quinta da Terrincha really seems to have bottled a serious craving for ripe berries – blackberries and raspberries, predominantly – reminiscent of a luxurious fruit compote and notes of perfectly toasted hazelnuts. The tannins are surprisingly mellow, almost indulgent, suggesting a wine designed for a decadent finish. It leaves a wonderfully lingering impression, practically begging for a pairing with a mature, well-aged cheese.
