This Douro Tawny, with its honeyed amber hue, clearly spent a good portion of its life dreaming of dried figs and apricots. Despite that youthful freshness – evidenced by its bright acidity – a decade of aging has imbued it with a decidedly sophisticated soul. It finishes with a persistence that’s quite remarkable, reminiscent of a good almond cream, and would pair wonderfully with aged cheeses.
