Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno’s name may not mean much to the more distracted, but he is no less than the great mentor behind the outstanding wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras already traces back to the work of three generations; however, it was only in 1989, under Mário Sérgio’s stewardship, that the Quinta das Bágeiras wines began to be bottled and sold, quickly becoming a benchmark in Bairrada wines and in Portugal. Although crafted following the procedures of previous generations, the wines of Quinta das Bágeiras are not fleeting fads but rather always in fashion, revealing the character of the region and the people who produce them with each harvest.
