Quinta das Bágeiras Garrafeira Branco comes from vines that are over 75 years old and is produced according to a philosophy of minimal intervention, respecting the wine’s natural time and rhythm. Fermented in old wooden barrels and bottled without fining or filtration, it shows remarkable elegance, with aromas of silica, ripe citrus, and spices. On the palate it is wide, fresh and complex, featuring a vibrant acidity and a long, distinct finish that reflects the classic, timeless style of Quinta das Bágeiras. The name Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno may not mean much to the distracted, but he is the great mentor behind the great wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The history of the estate already dates back to the work of three generations; however, it was only in 1989, under Mário Sérgio’s guidance, that the wines began to be bottled and sold, quickly becoming a benchmark in Bairrada and across Portugal. Although crafted following the procedures of earlier generations, the wines of Quinta das Bágeiras are not fads—they are always in fashion, revealing each harvest the character of the region and the people who produce them.
