This Touriga Nacional from Quinta das Marias certainly demands a little focus – critics have been singing its praises, and rightly so. It’s clearly benefiting from bottle aging, revealing layers of complexity that a younger vintage might lack. Characteristically earthy notes from the Dão region are intertwined with a subtle spice, and it’s a wine that pairs beautifully with a hearty beef roast, or, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, a slow-cooked rabbit.
