Quinta de Arcossó – O Tinto – Quinta de Arcossó Bastardo originates in Arcossó – Vidago – the Ribeira de Oura sub‑region, on a 10.5‑hectare plot that is part of a 12‑hectare estate, with vines planted in 2003. It sits on a wide slope at a medium altitude (375 m), facing south and inclined at about 20 %, on granitic soil. Winemaking: The grapes were hand‑crushed in 1000‑litre crushers and then transferred to old chestnut‑wood barrels, retaining roughly 30 % of the juice, where alcoholic fermentation lasted 12 days. Two daily manual racking sessions were carried out by hand in buckets, and the wine was drained by gravity. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless‑steel tanks, and the wine aged in used French oak barrels. The entire vinification and maturation process involved no mechanical intervention. Bottling followed six months of cellar ageing. The wine was neither pressed nor filtered. Open and decant the bottle some time before serving.
