To broaden his passion for wine and the Douro region where he grew up, José Carlos Monteiro Pinto decided in 1998 to establish a company dedicated to producing the nectar of the gods. He was then 30 years old and had the dream of having a project of his own. Today that dream has become a reality, and the company he founded bears his name, manages 22 hectares of vineyards, and aims to sell 300 thousand bottles this year. “Only with a great passion for wine, for what it represents, combined with an enormous capacity for sacrifice and dedication can one be successful in this field,” reveals José Carlos Monteiro Pinto.
