The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At the time, Pereira da Fonseca owned the country’s largest chain of retail outlets, and he used that position to create a company dedicated solely to the production and sale of wine. The company comprises three estates—Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco—situated in the Lisbon Wine Region, specifically within the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. These properties benefit from a microclimate shaped by the Serra de Montejunto and the Atlantic Ocean, giving the still wines, fortified wines, and brandies a fresh, balanced profile that highlights their unique character. *(Illustrative image only)*
