Since 1937, Caves do Solar de São Domingos has been producing sparkling wines, aged brandies, bagasse brandy, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its cellars house more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French‑oak barrels for its famous wine brandies. The “São Domingos” Bagasse Brandy, produced in its own distilleries, continues to lead the market with its classic quality. In 2006 a modern winemaking centre was inaugurated, allowing the company to receive a thousand tonnes of grapes from its own estates and from viticulturists working in partnership. Continuous innovation in production and winemaking has raised the quality and prestige of the house wines, reinforcing the commercial competitiveness of the São Domingos brand. Wine tourism is also a winning bet, dazzling thousands of visitors each year with the beauty of the rock‑cut galleries, the millions of bottles, as well as the showroom, hall and museum with tasting room, making it an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
