The Quinta de Saes Prolonged Ageing is a red wine from the Dão that blends elegance and depth, reflecting the benefit of a two‑winter barrel ageing. Made from a batch of old vines, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro, it offers aromas of wild fruit, herbal notes and a subtle earthy touch. On the palate it displays excellent freshness, precise tannins and a long, harmonious finish, demonstrating great balance and evolution potential. The earliest historical references known about Quinta da Pellada appear around 1570. The Demarcated Region of the Dão was established in 1908, framed by three mountain massifs – Buçaco, Caramulo and Serra da Estrela – which shield it from Atlantic winds and provide very special climatic conditions. Álvaro Castro is one of the best Portuguese producers and an undisputed leader in its Dão region. (image purely illustrative)
