Quinta de Saes Prolonged Maturation is a red wine from the Dão that blends elegance and depth, reflecting the benefits of a two‑winter aging period in oak barrels. Made from a selection of old vineyards, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro, it reveals aromas of wild fruit, herbal notes and a subtle earthy touch. On the palate it offers excellent freshness, precise tannins, and a long, harmonious finish, demonstrating great balance and evolution potential. The earliest known historical references to Quinta da Pellada date back to around 1570. The Demarcated Region of Dão was established in 1908, framed by three mountainous massifs – Buçaco, Caramulo and Serra da Estrela – which shield it from Atlantic winds and provide very special climatic conditions, and Álvaro Castro is one of the best Portuguese producers and the undisputed leader in his Dão region.
