Quinta de San Michel Malvasia de Colares Branco is a wine that expresses the authenticity of the Malvasia de Colares grape, grown on clay‑limestone soils and influenced by a Mediterranean temperate climate marked by the proximity of the Atlantic. This wine was aged for 8 months in French oak barrels on lees, followed by a 24‑month bottle period, ensuring greater complexity and structure. With a green‑yellow hue, the Quinta de San Michel Malvasia de Colares Branco presents an exuberant nose that brings the sea into the glass. Highlights include citrus aromas of lemon and peach, floral notes of jasmine, iodised nuances of seaweed and wet stone, as well as hints of smoke and butter from the barrel ageing. On the palate it is fine and complex, with multiple layers unfolding over the tasting. The maritime influence is evident, imparting a distinctive saltiness and dryness at the finish, making it a truly distinctive and authentic wine. Located in Janas, in the municipality of Sintra, Quinta de San Michel is a property distinguished by the quality of its wines, reflecting the unique identity of the Colares region. With vines cultivated on the Serra de Sintra and influenced by the Atlantic breeze, the estate combines traditional winemaking with innovative practices to create wines and sparkling wines of excellent balance and texture. The estate’s mission is to produce wines with character, respecting the terroir’s particularities while promoting sustainability and environmental preservation.
