Founded in 1864 by the patriarch of the Dourense family, Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho, Quinta de Santa Eufémia is now run by the fourth generation. The estate produces and markets port wine, table wine and olive oil. Located on the southern bank of the Douro, it spans more than 45 hectares of vineyards and cultivates some of the richest grape varieties. Vinification takes place in granite vats and with traditional pressing, while the wines age in oak shells before being selected for the finest lots.
