Hand‑picked grapes, for 25‑kg blocks, at their ideal ripening point; the aim is to achieve a robust maturity, leading to higher aromatic and phenolic concentrations. After gentle crushing and total destemming, the grapes are fermented in stainless‑steel vats and skins, allowing the quality components present in the skins of well‑ripened grapes to smoothly transfer to the wine. After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in new and used 400‑liter French oak barrels for about 12 months. A deep purple hue and very complex, distinct aromas dominate, with a fruit‑and‑floral character accented by minty notes from the discreetly integrated oak. On the palate it shows fruit, complexity, and high‑quality tannins that give it a long finish. This balanced blend of power and elegance contributes certainly to its ageing potential, so the wine will benefit from a few years in bottle.
