This Clarete from Seara D’Ordens clearly emerged from the cellar with a hefty dose of enthusiasm – the foot treading during fermentation has imbued it with a wonderfully distinctive character. Ripe black fruit notes, a direct consequence of ageing in used oak, speak of a refined elegance, likely boosted by the presence of Touriga Nacional. It’s a wine that deserves a seriously good plate of black pork with almonds, wouldn’t you agree?
