Having decided to adopt a quality policy for its wines, Caves Velhas—later to become part of the Enoport Wines Group—purchased Quinta do Boição in May 1983. The estate, whose owners had always supplied the cellar with their production, is located in Bucelas along the Ribeira do Boição, within the renowned Demarcated Region of Bucelas, between the banks of the Ribeira do Boição and the Rio Trancão. It spans a total area of 45 hectares, of which 32.5 hectares are planted with vines. (Illustrative image only)
