Determined to adopt a quality policy for its wines, Caves Velhas, which would later become part of the Enoport Wines Group, decided in May 1983 to purchase Quinta do Boição, whose owners had always supplied them with their production. Quinta do Boição is located in Bucelas, along the Ribeira do Boição, and situated in the renowned Demarcated Region of Bucelas, between the banks of the Ribeira do Boição and the Rio Trancão, covering a total area of 45 hectares, of which 32.5 hectares are dedicated to vineyard cultivation.
