Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has embarked on a long journey, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company began by producing wines from grapes of the Palmela region. In the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal started expanding, acquiring estates across the country and creating new paradigms for quality wine production. The vinification centre for all its Alentejo wines is located at Quinta do Carmo, a modern winery capable of producing 3 million litres.
