According to its age, wines may show signs left by time, such as dust on the bottles or some damage to the labels—common in vintages that have been stored for decades. The National Wine Warehouse stores all bottles at the correct temperature and humidity, yet it deliberately preserves the visual character that comes with age. We typically select brands and regions that perform well in old‑wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, even inside a bottle, evolves in aroma over time. Therefore the National Wine Warehouse cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an old wine. We recommend opening the bottle and letting it breathe first, which helps release its natural aromas after many years of closure. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for aged wines.
