Quinta do Côtto is one of the oldest estates in the demarcated Douro region. This DOC Douro wine comes from a selection of the finest Duriense grapes from the Baixo Corgo sub‑region. **Viticulture** The grapes are harvested by hand from several plots on the estate, situated between 140 and 440 metres above sea level with varying exposures. They are picked into 12‑kg crates. **Vinification** After complete destemming and a gentle crush, the grapes are moved to stainless‑steel vats where they ferment at controlled temperature, with macerations lasting 8–12 days. Thirty percent of the batch is aged in new and used French and Portuguese oak barrels for 4–11 months, then finished in stainless steel until bottling. The remaining 70 percent stays in stainless steel throughout.
