Description

This 2018 Crato Vintage certainly has a story to tell, doesn’t it? The grapes were meticulously chosen and transported in plastic crates – a detail that, frankly, piqued my curiosity. Fermentation took place in a traditional lagar, guided by some very capable men, and the addition of vínica brandy added a notable robustness. Two years ageing in 9000-litre oak barrels amplified the complexity, revealing notes of spice and a lingering finish. A wine clearly favoured by those who appreciate a somewhat... unconventional winemaking process. Ideal, perhaps, for a hearty roast?
