The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged and bottled on the estate, situated on the north bank of the Douro near Pinhão, in the Gontelho sub‑region long renowned for the excellence of its vineyards. In the late nineteenth century the property was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, ancestor of the current owners. Since then the Roseira family has progressively expanded the vineyard area and specialised in the production and ageing of Fine Wines. In 1979 the first Quinta Port wines were sold, reviving a very old tradition lost for more than fifty years. The estate covers about 23 hectares of vines rated with the highest classification available in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, and uses this as inspiration to refine traditional press‑fermentation techniques, producing natural Port wines of the highest quality.
