Description

The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged and bottled on the estate, located on the northern bank of the Douro, near Pinhão, in the sub-region of Gontelho, long known for the excellence of its vineyards. In the late 19th century, the estate was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, ancestor of the current managers. Since taking over the property, the Roseira family has progressively increased the vineyard area and specialized in the production and aging of Fine Wines. In 1979, the first Quinta Port wines were released, renewing a very old tradition that had been lost for more than 50 years. The estate has about 23 hectares of vineyards, classified with the highest classification available in the Demarcated Region of the Douro (Class A), using this as inspiration to refine traditional vinification techniques in the cellar and, taking advantage of the excellent grapes produced there, create natural Port wines of the highest quality.
