This Quinta do Monte Alegre Purple Moscatel is a delightfully understated wine – a real treat for the palate, if I may say so myself. The brief, 12-hour cold maceration clearly worked its magic, unveiling aromas of flowers, tea, and dried figs, with a subtle honeyed note characteristic of the Moscatel grape. Twenty months in 550L barrels have layered complexity, culminating in a gentle sweetness and a dry finish that lingers like a good chat. Absolutely perfect with aged cheeses or a nut-based compote, wouldn't you agree?
