This rosé from Quinta do Poço do Lobo, hailing from the Bairrada, is a delightfully ambitious affair. They’ve treated the Pinot Noir with a careful hand, picking it at its absolute peak, alongside Baga, hinting at a wine with serious ageing potential. The fermentation – a mix of toasted oak chips and stainless steel – plus five months of battonage, has resulted in a texture and complexity that deserves a moment of appreciation, particularly alongside some delicate canapés or lean fish and meats. Notably, it secured the Top 20 Best Rosé Wines in the World award according to Master of Wine Elizabeth Gabay, and was also crowned the Best Rosé of Bairrada at the 2022 Confraria dos Enófilos Bairrada Harvest event.
