This Quinta do Portal Extra Dry – sporting a gorgeous straw-coloured hue, I might add – has clearly been charming the Wine Enthusiast, earning a respectable 85 points. It’s a dry white Porto, but don’t let the dryness fool you; a touch of sweetness reminiscent of nuts is a classic Douro flourish. The signature of Malvasia Fina and Moscatel dances on the palate, culminating in a balanced fruit expression and a lingering, slightly bitter finish. Perfect with some tangy sheep’s cheese or a beautifully grilled white fish, wouldn’t you say?
