Quinta do Portal is a Portuguese, family‑owned, independent company that has embraced with passion the concept of a “boutique winery.” In addition to producing special‑category Douro wines and Port wines, it also focuses exclusively on producing Douro Moscatel and olive oil. This project, realised in the early 1990s, was based on Quinta dos Muros, a century‑old family property of the Mansilha family, and the Port wine that had already been produced there for four generations. With a forward‑looking vision, they immediately bet on creating internationally‑class Douro wines, becoming part of the first group of the new generation of Douro producers, focused on the quality of their products. Thus, the theme of “sustainability” also became part of Quinta do Portal’s daily routine, with vines under integrated production, requiring adherence to certain standards to ensure environmental protection. They are also members of The Porto Protocol, a movement whose values are sustainability, optimism and sharing, through responsibility, collaboration and commitment, promoting a world where companies unite efforts and work together to delay and alter climate change.
