The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At that time, Abel Pereira da Fonseca owned the largest chain of retail wine outlets in the country, and he used that position to create the company, which was dedicated solely to the production and sale of wine. The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company comprises three estates: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco, all located in the Lisbon Wine Region, specifically within the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. Here, the properties benefit from a microclimate created by the Serra de Montejunto and the Atlantic Ocean, giving the still, fortified, and spirit wines a fresh and balanced profile that showcases their unique characteristics.
