Description

The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At that time, Abel Pereira da Fonseca owned the country’s largest network of public retail outlets, using his position to create a company dedicated solely to the production and trade of wines. The company comprises three estates—Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco—located in the Lisbon Wine Region, specifically the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. Here the properties benefit from a microclimate shaped by the Serra de Montejunto and the Atlantic Ocean, which gives the still, liqueur, and fortified wines a fresh and balanced profile, revealing their unique character.
