Domingos Alves de Sousa breathes life into his wines, following a family tradition begun by his grandfather and now joined by his children. He vinifies exclusively the grapes from his estates, each with truly unique terroirs, and the quality and distinctiveness of his wines are widely acknowledged, earning distinctions and references in the most respected national and international publications. Notably, he was awarded the “Producer of the Year” title in 1999 and again in 2006 by Revista de Vinhos, becoming the first to receive Portugal’s most prestigious winemaker honor twice.
