According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or label damage—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar stores all wines at the correct temperature and humidity but always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We generally select brands/regions that typically perform well in old wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism, like others, exposed to time, and even within a bottle the aromas evolve. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle aerate beforehand, helping to release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines. (illustrative image only)
