This Quinta S. José Douro Tinto is a delightfully surprising wine considering the demanding terroir. Predominantly Aragonez and Touriga Nacional, these classic Douro grapes deliver a medium-bodied wine with firm tannins, yet a vibrant acidity that keeps it remarkably fresh. As José Manuel Dias noted, it’s a “cat’s whisker” of a wine with a subtle spice note – perfect alongside a good steak with roasted potatoes. A wine that’s certainly rewarding with a little patience, and arguably best enjoyed with grilled trout and a rustic earthenware plate, wouldn't you agree?
