This wine is the result of a deep friendship between Dirk Niepoort and Raúl Pérez. The “deal” was simple: Raul would head to the Douro to produce a wine for Ultreia Douro, and Dirk would travel to Bierzo to craft one. From that exchange emerged Calderera, a wine made from the Godello grape. The result is a very fresh, complex wine with an aristocratic character. (Image is purely illustrative.)
