This wine stems from a deep friendship between Dirk Niepoort and Raúl Pérez. The “deal” was simple: Raúl would head to the Douro to craft a wine, the Ultreia Douro, while Dirk would travel to Bierzo to make a wine. From this exchange came Calderera, a wine made from the Godello grape. The result is a very fresh, complex, and aristocratic wine. (Image for illustration only)
