Linked for several generations to the José de Mello family, Monte da Ravasqueira is situated in the municipality of Arraiolos, an hour’s drive from Lisbon, and spans a vast area of typically Alentejo countryside. Its management and exploitation are overseen by Sociedade Agrícola D. Diniz, SA. With excellent geological and climatic conditions ideal for producing the best wine the Alentejo can offer, Monte da Ravasqueira has attracted substantial investment in vine planting, as well as in enological equipment and meteorological and phytosanitary facilities. The investments also include a range of support infrastructure for developing an enotourism project. Committed to producing wines of distinctive quality, Monte da Ravasqueira also cultivates other activities such as cork production, olive oil, honey, cattle breeding, and the fattening of the Alentejo black pig.
