A Touriga Franca, a grape of great importance in Port wine production, gains its due stature at Monte da Ravasqueira from the 2012 vintage, both in blends and as a varietal. It displays a deep, dark, opaque and dense colour. The nose bursts with an exuberant aromatic freshness, featuring intense notes of black fruit, grape jam (giesta), black olive and mineral undertones. On the palate all of these aromas are felt, with a long, powerful opening and sustained volume, spicy and progressively tightening tannins. It continues to unfold and intensify over time in the glass.
