Garrafeira Nacional stores all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, yet chooses to preserve the visual character that comes with age. We usually select labels and regions that perform well in old‑wine tastings. Wine, like any living thing, is exposed to time; even sealed, its aromas evolve. Therefore Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held liable for the quality of an aged wine. Our advice is to open and let the bottle breathe first, which helps release the natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
