According to its age, the wines may show signs left by time, such as dust residues on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always opts to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. Generally, we select brands/regions that usually perform well in old wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even within a bottle its aromas are subject to different evolutions. Thus, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle aerate first, as this will help release the natural aromas of the wine after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it may be too aggressive for old wines. (illustrative image)
