Description

Depending on its age, wines may show time‑worn marks such as dust residue on the bottles and/or damage to the labels, common in vintages that have been stored for decades. The National Cellar is committed to keeping all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, yet it always preserves the visual character that comes with age. We typically choose brands/regions that perform well in old‑wine tastings. Still, wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Therefore the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe beforehand, which helps liberate the wine’s natural aromas after many years of being sealed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines. (Illustrative image)
