Rivers‑Marie Rivers Marie is a passionate project owned and run by the husband‑and‑wife team Thomas Rivers Brown and Genevieve Marie Welsh, both raised in Sonoma. Founded in 2002, the venture produces only a handful of bottles from the Summa vineyard. Brown was already one of Napa’s most sought‑after consulting winemakers, crafting extraordinary Cabernet, but he wanted to make wines inspired by Burgundy and Barolo. Today, Rivers‑Marie makes Pinot and Chardonnay (and some Cabernet) from coastal sites along the Occidental as well as Summa. The wines have a Burgundian tilt in style – yet they are unmistakably representative of the Sonoma Coast – and rank among the finest examples of Sonoma Pinot you’ll find.
