Romanée-Conti is a name almost synonymous with magic in the world of wine. However, few know that it actually refers to two distinct things. On one hand, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the name of the winery that seduces wine lovers around the globe and is arguably the world’s most prestigious producer. Currently, it markets wines from eleven distinct vineyards, all located in the Côte d'Or. Furthermore, Romanée-Conti also refers to a specific vineyard (and Grand Cru appellation) that, due to its importance and mystique, has become the namesake of the winery. This is particularly notable as it’s a monopole vineyard, exclusively owned by the same winery, contrasting with vineyards like Clos de Vougeot, which boasts dozens of owners.
