This collaboration between Raul Perez and Mario Romano Cunha proves that Trás-os-Montes is far more than just “near Mirandela”. Crafted primarily with Gouveio, Moscatel, Códega and Malvasia Fina, and benefiting from Raul Perez’s meticulously controlled “slave-to-the-vine” approach – a hefty one kilo per vine for reds and just 300-500g for whites – the result is a remarkably mature and sensual wine. It boasts rich, complex fruit and a structure that hints at a gracefully extended aging potential. Truly a testament to talent and dedication, it’s a superb match for game meats or roasted poultry.
