Founded in 1850 by the patriarch of a Portuguese family, Manoel da Rocha Romariz, the Romariz house originally focused on trade to Brazil and former Portuguese colonies, eventually expanding to England and establishing itself in the domestic market as a benchmark for quality wine production. In 1966 it was acquired by Guimaraens & Cia., which prioritized the national market to consolidate the brand. Later, in 1987 it became part of an English group that centered on developing and leveraging Porto Reserva Latina, which today represents the true brand image of Romariz.
